Castle Gate Outfitters • High Star Ranch • Kamas, Utah
Give your kid a summer with no screens, no sitting around, and no forgettable days. At Castle Gate Outfitters, campers ages 8 to 12 spend a full week in the saddle learning horsemanship, outdoor survival skills, and real-world confidence. This is the kind of summer that shapes who they become.
5 Weeks Available • Summer 2026
Each session runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm. Limited to 10 campers per week.
What Your Kid Comes Home With
Grooming, saddling, trail riding, and learning to communicate with a horse. Not just riding in a circle. Actual skills they can build on for life.
Fire building, knot tying, trail navigation, and Leave No Trace. The kind of stuff kids used to learn from their grandparents. Now they learn it in the mountains above Kamas.
Horses do not care how many followers you have. Kids learn responsibility, teamwork, and what it actually feels like to earn something. That sticks with them.
Monday Through Friday • 9am to 3pm
Meet the horses, learn grooming and tack basics, and take their first trail ride up into the mountains.
Confidence-building in the saddle with obstacle courses and horsemanship challenges that push them in the best way.
A longer trail ride with navigation skills and teamwork challenges. This is the day they will brag about at dinner.
Deeper horsemanship, horse care mastery, and leadership activities. By now they are starting to look like the real deal.
Fire building, knot tying, team challenges, and a graduation ceremony with badge presentation. They earned it.
Young Wrangler Badge Program
Campers earn badges throughout the week as they master new skills. These are not participation trophies. They are proof of what your kid did in the mountains this summer.
